What we build

Custom Balloon Arches for Denver Celebrations

Put an arch over the door, the cake or the stage, and that spot becomes the center of the party.

Think of a balloon arch as a frame made of balloons. It curves over whatever matters most at your event (the entrance, the dessert table, the couple, the graduate, the stage) and pulls every eye and camera toward it. Compared with florals or fabric it costs less, fills more space and still looks bold from the back of a hall.

We don't start from a catalog. We ask about the room, the colors and the feel you want, then measure the space so the arch fits it. From there we choose the balloon mix: tiny 5-inch fillers, everyday 11-inch, oversized 17- to 24-inch statement balloons, and chrome, pearl or foil accents where they help. On the day, we deliver, build on-site and come back for teardown.

Arches are our most requested piece for birthdays, baby showers and gender reveals, weddings and bridal showers, graduations, quinceañeras, retirements, office parties and store openings. Any event with a doorway, a table or a spot for photos has room for one.

Arch styles

Balloon Arch Styles We Build

Shape sets the mood before color does. These are the arch styles we build, and where each one shines.

Organic balloon arches

Organic arches skip the repeating pattern. Big, medium and tiny balloons are clustered by eye so the arch has bumps, depth and a soft, garden-grown shape. This is the look people screenshot on Instagram and Pinterest, and it takes greenery, dried florals and pampas beautifully. Because every foot holds more balloons, organic costs a little more than classic.

Classic and spiral balloon arches

Classic arches use tight, matching four-balloon clusters stacked on a frame. Rotate the colors cluster by cluster and the arch twists into a spiral of two, three or four shades. The result is crisp and sturdy, which is why school, team and brand colors still look best this way. Think Broncos orange and navy for a watch party or a school's colors on senior night.

Round, circle and hoop arches

A round arch (people also call it a circle arch, ring or hoop) puts balloons around part or all of a circular frame. A full ring frames whoever stands inside it. A crescent covers one side and leaves the middle open for a backdrop panel, a name in vinyl or florals. Proposals, sweet 16s and photo corners use this shape most.

Square and backdrop arches

Square arches run balloons up one side, across the top and down the other side of a rectangular frame, usually around a panel, shimmer wall or flower wall. The cake table gets a defined stage and photos get a clean border. To plan the arch and the backdrop together, see our balloon backdrops.

Half and asymmetrical arches

Half arches (also called swoops or demi arches) rise up one side of a door, backdrop or table and stop short of the other. You get the designer look with fewer balloons, so it's a smart pick when the budget is tight or the room is small, like a Capitol Hill apartment or a restaurant private room.

Double arches

A double arch sets two arches together, nested one inside the other or staggered front to back, so the design has real depth. It suits ceremony sites, stage entrances and big openings where a single arch would look thin in a large room or a wide-open outdoor space.

Mini and tabletop arches

Tabletop arches run about 4 to 6 feet across and sit right on or behind a cake table, gift table, sweetheart table or dessert spread. They're made for tighter spaces: condo living rooms, basement rec rooms, brewery corners and baby showers where the floor is already full of chairs.

Entrance and doorway arches

A doorway arch shows guests where to go before they find the address. We build them over front doors, garage doors, porch steps, venue entrances and shop doors. Outdoor arches here get heavy weights and extra ties, because afternoon gusts along the Front Range can show up out of a clear sky. Add balloon columns at each side for a finished entry.

Large and giant balloon arches

Large arches, 16 feet and up, cover double doors, stages and driveways. For openings, school events and festivals they can stretch 25 to 40 feet using 24- and 36-inch balloons. At that size the arch is planned around the site like any custom balloon installation, with anchoring decided before the build.

Balloon arches with flowers and greenery

Tuck silk or fresh flowers, eucalyptus, dried grasses or trailing greenery into the clusters and an arch turns soft and romantic. Bridal showers, baptisms, Mother's Day brunches and fall weddings with golden-aspen palettes lean on this style.

Sizing

Picking a Balloon Arch Size for Your Space

Measure before you pick. Too small and the arch disappears in photos; too big and guests duck to get through the door.

Balloon arch sizes and where each one fits
Arch sizeGood forRough balloon count

6.5–7 ft frame archPhoto corners, single doors, small backdrops90–130 organic

16–20 ft archDouble doors, stages, 10 ft backdrops240–360 organic or 100–130 classic
25 ft and longerOpenings, gyms, outdoor entrancesPlanned for the site

We measure arch length along the curve, not across the ground. A 16–20 ft arch usually stands about 8–9 ft high and spans 8–10 ft at the base. Exact counts shift with balloon sizes and how full you want it.

How many balloons go into a balloon arch? Plan on about 5–6 per foot for a classic arch of 11-inch balloons, and roughly 12–18 per foot for organic, since it layers 5-, 11- and 17- or 18-inch sizes. That puts a 6 ft organic arch near 70–110 balloons and a 20 ft one near 240–360. A pack of 50 covers a half arch or a tabletop piece, not a full doorway.

Pricing

What Does a Balloon Arch Cost in Denver?

Most full-size arches we build fall between $245 and $600. Here are our starting prices and the things that move them.

Balloon arch pricing
ArchStarting at
Tabletop or mini arch (4–6 ft)$195
Frame arch with garland (6.5–7 ft)$245
Doorway arch (10–12 ft)$325
Themed welcome arch with foil accents$360
Full balloon arch (16–20 ft)$495
Double, giant and 25 ft+ archesCustom quote

Prices cover delivery, setup and pickup within about 30 miles of downtown Denver. Farther drives, including foothills and mountain venues, add a travel fee starting at $60.

What does it cost for a balloon arch? These are the things that change it:

  • Length and density. Every extra foot, and every extra layer of clusters, adds balloons and build time.
  • Style. Organic takes more balloons per foot than classic or spiral.
  • Balloon types. Chrome, pearl, double-stuffed custom shades and 17- to 36-inch balloons cost more than standard latex.
  • Extras. Florals, greenery, foil shapes, vinyl names, marquee letters and backdrop panels.
  • How it stands. A frame or stand is included in most quotes. Hanging an arch from venue beams or rafters takes extra labor.
  • Drive and timing. A Thornton-to-Parker run, a 7 AM install or a downtown ballroom with a narrow dock window all affect the quote.
  • Teardown. We can pick everything up after, or you can keep the balloons and skip the return trip.

For an exact price, send us the date, venue, size and colors and you'll get a written quote back. Want to see every service side by side? The garland, column and backdrop pages each list their own starting prices.

Occasions

Balloon Arches for Every Occasion

The same frame can feel playful, formal or festive. These are the celebrations that book arches most.

Birthday party balloon arches

First birthdays, kids' character parties, sweet 16s and the big ones (30, 40, 50, 60), often with a foil number or marquee age worked into the design.

Baby shower and gender reveal arches

Soft neutrals and pastels for showers and sprinkles, and pink-and-blue reveal arches with a big question-mark moment.

Wedding balloon arches

Arches for ceremonies, receptions, bridal showers, engagement parties and anniversaries, often in ivory, champagne and blush with florals.

Graduation balloon arches

School-color arches with the class year for grad parties, prom, homecoming and senior night. Colorado graduations cluster in mid to late May.

Quinceañeras and sweet 16s

Statement arches over the head table or the salón entrance, in her colors with chrome accents and a crown or her initial.

Baptisms and first communions

White, ivory and soft pastel arches for baptisms, christenings and first communions, at home or in the parish hall.

Corporate events and grand openings

Brand-color arches for ribbon cuttings, store openings, trade show booths, team celebrations and office parties.

Holiday balloon arches

Halloween and Christmas keep us busiest, followed by Valentine's Day, Easter, Cinco de Mayo, the 4th of July and New Year's Eve.

Retirement, welcome home and memorials

Retirement send-offs, front-door welcome-home arches and quiet, respectful arches for celebrations of life.

Colors and themes

Popular Balloon Arch Colors and Themes

Send an invitation, a screenshot or a single color you love, and we'll build the palette out from it.

Palettes Denver hosts ask for most

  • Black, gold and white. Milestone birthdays, retirements and New Year's Eve.
  • Blush, ivory and champagne. Bridal showers, baby showers and first birthdays.
  • Terracotta, sage, rust and cream. Desert-boho palettes for showers, weddings and fall parties.
  • Orange and navy. Broncos game days, fall birthdays and tailgate-style parties.
  • Pastel rainbow. Little kids' birthdays, Easter egg hunts and spring parties.
  • Red, white and blue. Fourth of July cookouts, military homecomings and civic events.
  • Red, green and white. Cinco de Mayo, quinceañera accents and Christmas.
  • School colors. Graduations, senior nights and booster club events.

Themes

Character arches pair licensed foil balloons with latex in matching shades: Bluey, Mickey and Minnie, Spider-Man, Paw Patrol, Pokémon and Encanto come up all the time. Mountain themes are a local favorite too: a pine-green and slate "wild one" arch, a snowflake winter wonderland, an après-ski party or a camping-themed first birthday. In January, when the National Western Stock Show comes to town, western and rodeo themes pick up.

You can have an arch built for you, rent one ready-made or try it yourself. Here's the trade-off.

Grab-and-go garlandA finished garland you collect and hang yourselfShort runs for a table or wall, tighter budgets
DIY balloon arch kitLoose balloons, a decorating strip and glue dotsSmall arches, spare time and a helper with patience

How to make simple balloon decor? Start small: a short garland on a decorating strip or a half arch over a table, using an electric pump and balloons blown up only the day before. A full organic arch is a different job. A pro crew usually needs one to three hours on-site, and first-timers often spend half a day plus an extra store run. Balloons inflated too early or overfilled tend to sag, pop or turn cloudy, so if the arch is the main event, it pays to hand it off.

Mile-high weather

Outdoor Balloon Arches at Altitude: Sun, Wind and Fast-Changing Skies

Outdoor arches work well in Denver. They just need a plan for the sun, the wind and the afternoon sky.

At 5,280 feet, sunlight carries more UV than it does at sea level, and UV is what turns latex cloudy and matte. Summer afternoons in the upper 80s and low 90s add heat that expands the air inside each balloon, and dark shades like navy and black heat up fastest. Then there's the sky itself: a calm morning can turn into a gusty thunderstorm by 3 PM from June through August, and spring can bring snow one day and 70 degrees the next. The dry air is the one thing working in our favor.

  • Find shade first. A covered patio, porch, pergola, tent or the shaded side of the house adds hours to an outdoor arch.
  • Build close to start time. For summer afternoon parties, we schedule the install near the event rather than at breakfast.
  • Air-filled outside. Outdoor arches are air-filled on a frame. Helium balloons in sun and wind give up quickly.
  • Go lighter in full sun. Whites, pastels, pearls and metallics hold up better than black or deep navy.
  • Anchor for gusts. Weighted bases plus ties to a railing, post or fence, especially on rooftops and near the foothills.
  • Watch the forecast together. Light rain won't hurt latex. Lightning, hail or strong wind means moving the arch under cover, and we plan that spot in advance.

Longevity

How Long Does a Balloon Arch Last?

An air-filled arch indoors keeps its shape for days. Outside on a July afternoon, count on the length of the party.

Typical balloon arch life span
SetupUsual life
Air-filled, indoors at room temperatureSeveral days, often a week or longer
Air-filled, outdoors in shade (spring and fall)A full day, sometimes into the next
Air-filled, outdoors in direct summer sunA few hours before clouding and popping
Helium arch or bouquets at altitudeHours, unless the balloons are treated

Will my balloon arch last four days? Indoors and air-filled, yes, which is why a night-before build works so well for morning events. Can you set it up the night before? Indoors, gladly. Outdoors in summer, same-day is better. What about helium? Thinner air at a mile high means each balloon has less lift than it would at sea level, so floating pieces get larger balloons, light ribbon and float treatment, and they're filled close to the party.

How it works

Four simple steps. Asking for a quote is free and doesn't lock you in.

  2. 2

    Get a design and price

We send back a design plan and a written quote, and tweak it free until it's right.

  3. 3

    We build on-site

We show up in your setup window, build the arch and check that it's secure and ready for photos.

  4. 4

    Party, then pickup

Questions

Balloon Arches in Denver: FAQ

What does it cost for a balloon arch?

Our arches start at $195 for a tabletop arch, $245 for a 6.5–7 ft frame arch and $495 for a full 16–20 ft arch, with delivery, setup and pickup included near Denver. Size, style, balloon count, extras and drive distance set the final quote.

How long do balloon arches last?

Indoors and air-filled, several days and often a week or more. Outdoors in shade, about a day. In direct summer sun at Denver's altitude, a few hours. Helium arches last hours unless the balloons are treated.

How many balloons does a balloon arch take?

About 12–18 per foot for organic and 5–6 per foot for classic. A 6 ft organic arch uses roughly 70–110 balloons, and a 20 ft organic arch uses about 240–360.

Is a balloon arch the same thing as a balloon garland?

The garland is the flexible chain of balloon clusters. An arch is a garland, or classic clusters, mounted on a frame or anchors so it stands and curves over something. A garland can also hang flat on a wall, mantel or table.

Do balloon arches use helium?

Usually not. Most arches are air-filled and held up by a frame, which keeps them looking good longer and costs less. Helium is for floating pieces, and at Denver's altitude those need bigger balloons and lighter ribbon to float well.

Can a balloon arch stand outside in Denver?

Yes. Outdoor arches are air-filled, weighted and tied down, and placed in shade when possible. Strong sun and afternoon storms are the main risks, so summer arches go up close to start time and we plan a covered backup spot.

How early should I reserve a balloon arch?

Two to four weeks is comfortable. Book earlier for May graduations, October and December weekends, and wedding Saturdays from June to October. Short-notice requests are still worth sending.

Can my balloon arch be set up the night before the party?

Indoors, yes. An air-filled arch built the evening before looks the same the next morning. Outdoor arches should go up on the day.

Are delivery and setup included?

Yes. Full-service arches include delivery, the on-site build and pickup after the party. If you'd rather handle setup, we also offer ready-made frame arches and grab-and-go garlands.

Does altitude change how balloons behave?

For air-filled arches, hardly at all. For helium, yes: thinner air means less lift, so small foil and latex balloons float for less time. Balloons filled in Denver and driven up to a mountain venue also expand on the way, so we leave them a little room.

Can you build a latex-free arch for guests with allergies?

Yes. We can make arches, walls and backdrops entirely from foil balloons, which is also what many hospitals, schools and offices require.

Do you tip a balloon arch decorator?

It's up to you. Some hosts tip the crew 10–15% on a large or early-morning install; others leave a review instead.

Tell us the date. We'll build the balloon arches.
